It is with great excitement that I am happy to share with you TIMC’s newest offering: The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program, giving you access to citizenship and passport and visa-free travel to 130 countries including Canada.

Ms. Jeanne Labbe, Creative Writer at TIMC, has interviewed TIMC’s privileged partner for over 17 years, Mr. Mr. Guy Pilote, Senior Vice-President at Sherbrooke Street Capital, and I am pleased to share their interview with you today, in order to provide you with in depth details of this fast and simple passport program.

Q1. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: Mr. Pilote, what has been your involvement with this passport Program?

Mr. Guy Pilote: I was part of the original team that participated in the creation of the Canadian Immigrant Investor Program in the 1980’s, and was working with Mr. Don Myatt at Immigration Canada at the time. In 2012, when Mr. Myatt was ready to retire, he was approached by the Antigua and Barbuda government to create and manage their Citizenship by Investment Program.  He created this program following a strict compliance process.

While creating the Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program, Mr. Myatt inspired himself with the Canadian Immigrant Investor Program, making sure to address the concerns of the clientele seeking to apply in a Second Residency Program by making this program a simple and fast process.

Q2. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: Who can benefit from the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program?

Mr. Guy Pilote: This program was designed for:

  • Families who wish to obtain a quick passport (3 to 6 months processing time);
  • International High Net Worth investors who wish to travel visa-free to 130 countries;
  • Families wishing to send their children to foreigner schools in their home country;
  • Investors wishing to obtain a second residency option to preserve their future.

Q3. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: What is the main reason why International High Net Worth Individuals turn to this passport program?

Mr. Guy Pilote: There are many advantages to this program, and I would say that many of our clients who have applied for the Canadian Immigrant Investor Program and experienced delays are applying for this program as a compliment to the Canadian IIP.

Q4. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: What is the criteria to be able to apply to this Citizenship by Investment Program?

Mr. Guy Pilote: Candidates must be 18 years old and over and must contribute to the Antigua & Barbuda economy by making a monetary contribution.  Three to six months later, following medical and juridical tests, they obtain their citizenship and passport.

Q5. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: What are the steps to apply?

Mr. Guy Pilote: Candidates must apply through an Authorized Representative, such as TIMC, to apply.  TIMC will guide them through the documents to submit, and 3 to 6 months later, approved candidates will receive their passport.

Q6. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: So the delays to obtain this passport are 3 to 6 months?

Mr. Guy Pilote: Indeed, this is a very fast and simple process. It is required by the government of Antigua & Barbuda that the process take no longer than 3 months.

Q8. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: What obligations must one respect in order to maintain their Antigua & Barbuda citizenship and passport?

Mr. Guy Pilote: To maintain their status, the citizen must stay at least 5 days in Antigua and Barbuda only during the first 5 years after receiving their citizenship and make an oath to the Queen.

Q8. Ms. Jeanne Labbé: How long will this program be available?

Mr. Guy Pilote: The option to make a contribution to the country’s National Development Fund is available until May 1, 2016.

Q9. Ms. Jeanne Labbé:  Mr. Pilote, TIMC has been the specialist in the Canadian Immigrant Investor Program for over 25 years, and we have partnered with you for over 17 years; why do you think that TIMC should offer this Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program to our clients?

Mr. Guy Pilote: TIMC offers its distinguished clientele to uniquely combine second residency and Canadian long-term asset diversification solutions in order to securely preserve their clients’ future. This second residency program fits very well in TIMC’s holistic approach to preserving their clients’ future.
